Monochrome photography is a type of photography in which the image produced in a single shade. It covers all forms of black-and-white photography, which create images containing tons of gray posturing from black to white. Other shades besides grey, such as cyan, sepia, brown can also use in monochrome photography.

  1. Shoot RAW

Taking a photo in RAW you can see the highest level of quality, a greater level of brightness and get better prints. Shooting RAW will make the adjustments easier and faster, with superior results.

  1. Look for Contrast, Shape, and Texture in Monochrome Photography

The complimentary and conflicting colors that lead a color image to life are all brought down to black and white or shades of grey in a monochrome image and you have to make a shot stand out.

  1. Try Long Exposure

Long exposure shots can work monochrome photography, especially where there’s moving water or clouds, during the disclosure the highlights of the water.

  1. Use Filters

Using black and white filters you can able to control how to convert the color in the shades of grey. You can use mobile apps, software’s  or online tools for this, adobe photoshop is best for this. Some mobile apps like B612, Candy Camera etc.

  1. Dodge and Burn

The Dodge and the Burn tools lighten or darken section of the image. Photographers take backlight to brighten an area on the dodging or increase the exposure to blacken areas on a burning.You can use these tools in Adobe Photoshop.
